Joseph was friends with the biggest bullies in the school. Each day he and his friends would laugh and make fun of other kids.

One day, Alex, a new student comes to school and Joseph sees his friends making fun of Alex. Joseph didn’t laugh this time.

Joseph overheard one of his friends planning to take Alex’s new lunch box on the way home after school. Joseph met up with Alex before the bell rang and taught him a different route to take to get his house since they lived on the same street.

On the way home, Joseph talked to Alex and got to know him. He really liked Alex, and he realized that they had so much in common. Joseph apologized to Alex for laughing at him.

Meanwhile, the bullies were looking all around for Alex to get his new lunchbox, but he was not on the same street as they were. They finally gave up and went home.

On that different route home from school, Joseph and Alex became friends. Little did Alex know, Joseph had led him a different direction to keep bullies from trying to take his brand-new lunch box.

On Alex’s first day in a new school, he not only met a new friend, but he also learned a new way to get home that was much faster!

Joseph also learned a lesson on friendship that day. He realized that he made a wrong choice being friends with bullies, because bullies hurt people and Joseph didn’t want to be mean anymore. Joseph liked talking to his new friend Alex!
