How do you show texture in printing?

Printing is great for exploring texture. While most artists use materials such as wood, linoleum, or metal to create their prints, many other objects and surfaces can be used as well. You used Styrofoam in your last printing project, and you have also printed with leaves. Do you remember what their texture looked like?

But what would it look like if you printed with a piece of lace or some cardboard? Sometimes when you print with different objects, you get a texture that you don’t expect! In this lesson, you will print with a variety of objects that you find around your home. The main focus of this project is not to make a realistic picture but to combine the different textures.
