Thanksgiving is a great holiday to celebrate by making a craft!

Goal:

In this activity, you will make a bracelet with a pipe cleaner and beads. Watch this slide show to learn how and to see what each bead means.

pilgrims

The first brown bead represents the pilgrims who fled England seeking religious freedom.

the Mayflower

The second white bead represents the white sails of the ship the pilgrims sailed on: the Mayflower.

The three blue beads represent the ocean the pilgrims sailed across to reach the New World.

green trees

The dark green bead represents the land the pilgrims finally saw!

a winter scene

The three white beads represent the snow during that first long, hard winter.

flowers growing

The light green bead represents the arrival of spring.

Native Americans

The cream bead represents the kind Native Americans who helped the Pilgrims.

cranberries, corn, turkey, pumpkin

The last four beads represent the first Thanksgiving feast: red for cranberries, yellow for corn, brown for turkey, and orange for pumpkin.
