Goal:

Can you make art with recycled materials?

What do you do when your crayons break or get really small? Do you throw them away? What if you could recycle your old, broken crayons? Well, you can! Recycling old crayons and making new ones for yourself is easy! It is also a great way to get extra life out of your crayons.

Crayons are made of wax and colored pigment. They can be melted and then cooled to create a new form. In this lesson, you will collect your old, broken crayons. Then, you will melt them in a mold to create a new set of rainbow crayons for yourself. Move on to the next page to learn how.
