How important are the parts of a whole?

Sometimes the best way to learn about a subject (or object) is to focus on its parts and the way those parts are related. When you study the relationships among various parts of a "whole," you are engaged in analysis. This lesson will help you understand more about triangles by focusing on a triangle's parts, namely its sides and angles. As you may remember from earlier lessons, a triangle's sides and angles, and the relationship between these parts, determine the type of triangle, which then determines the properties that apply to that shape.
