How can you tell when you or someone close to you may need some help?

Stressed Studen At the beginning of this lesson, you learned that some psychological illnesses feel like extreme forms of normal human emotions like sadness or nervousness. When these normal emotions cross the line and become depression or anxiety, they can disrupt people's lives and relationships.

How do you know when you or someone else may need some help? What behaviors indicate a possible psychological illness? What conversational clues might you hear? If the person is you, what private thoughts or feelings might signal a need for a psychological health check-up?

Think about the symptoms of either anxiety or depression. Consider what anxiety or depression would look like and sound like in someone you know. Then go to the next discussion assignment in this course and post your answer to the questions above. Be sure to provide reasons and examples to support your answer.
