How do the three branches of government work together to accomplish the goals and tasks of government?

Objectives

Students will:

  1. Describe how the three branches of government are supposed to work together to establish and interpret laws and to set public policy.
  2. Identify and describe the obstacles that sometimes stand in the way of cooperation among the three branches of government.
  3. Explain how disagreements between the executive and legislative branches tend to get resolved.
  4. Analyze a case study/historical example in which the three branches interacted to produce change or identify and solve a problem.
