Objectives
Students will:
- Describe how the three branches of government are supposed to work together to establish and interpret laws and to set public policy.
- Identify and describe the obstacles that sometimes stand in the way of cooperation among the three branches of government.
- Explain how disagreements between the executive and legislative branches tend to get resolved.
- Analyze a case study/historical example in which the three branches interacted to produce change or identify and solve a problem.
Skills Needed
Students must be able to:
- Identify the three branches of American government, and explain the role of each branch as defined by the U.S. Constitution.
