Vertebrates and Invertebrates

Goal:

Goal:

A human backbone. Vertebrates are animals that have a backbone, and invertebrates are animals without backbones. Mammals (such as you and I), fish, birds, reptiles, and amphibians (such as salamanders and frogs), are all vertebrates. Spiders, snails, worms, and insects are invertebrates.

Go for a walk. Find as many examples of invertebrates and vertebrates as you can. If you are unable to find many examples in nature, go to your local library and find some examples in books or search the internet.
