What happens when there is more than one zero?

Goal:

Goal:

You know what to do when the next digit to the left is a zero. But what happens if the digit after that is also a zero?

You can use the same process to borrow across zero. The only difference is that instead of borrowing from the next digit to the left, you borrow from the first digit to the left that is larger than 0. Then, you bring the 1 back to where you started and change all of the 0's in between to 9's. Look at these examples:

Example 4:

    Subtract 264 from 5,000.

Example 5:

    Subtract 1,362 from 7,004.
