There are natural landmarks in every state. Some of the famous American natural landmarks are the Grand Canyon in Arizona, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, and Diamond Head in Hawaii. In California, you can see the giant trees in Redwood State National Park. The Florida Caverns State Park is another famous natural landmark, as is the Everglades in Florida. If you want to see Balanced Rock, head to the Big Bend National Park in Texas. On the Gettysburg Battlefield in Pennsylvania, you can see the landmark, Devil's Den. There are also several manmade landmarks in every state, too. Some of the famous manmade landmarks in the U.S. are the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Statue of Liberty in New York, and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. Look at this Overseas Highway in the Florida Keys. It runs 113 miles over water. It is one of the most scenic drives in the world. Did you know that the Texas Capitol is taller than the U.S. capitol building? It is the largest in the country. Pennsylvania honors the great Benjamin Franklin with a national memorial and a bridge, which are both famous manmade landmarks. As you can see, the United States has many famous natural and manmade landmarks. |
