On March 2, Texans celebrate Texas Independence Day. This holiday celebrates the day a document was signed giving Texas its independence from Mexico and creating the Republic of Texas.

Confederate Memorial Day - January 19th

The first Texas state holiday each year is on January 19. Confederate Heroes Day remembers the Confederate soldiers and sailors who died in the Civil War. The date is Robert E. Lee's birthday.

On April 21, Texans celebrate San Jacinto Day. This is the day of the final battle of the Texas Revolution when Texas won its independence from Mexico.

Juneteenth - Celebrate Freedom

Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19 and commemorates when slavery ended in Texas.

The last Texas state holiday is Lyndon B. Johnson Day on August 27. This marks the birthday of U.S. President Lyndon Baines Johnson who was a Texas native.
