What will you discover about the ocean biome?

Goal:

Goal:

Playful California sea lions in the kelp forest off San Miguel Island. California, Channel Islands NMS. Claire Fackler. Water covers more than 70 percent of Earth's surface, and most of that water is the salt water in the ocean. Complete these activities to discover more about the ocean biome.

1. If you live near the ocean, go to the beach and examine plankton, sea kelp, and other animals and plants that live there.

2. Record your observations in your Lesson Notes.

3. If you do not live near the ocean, go to your local library, and borrow a book about sea creatures. For example, Sea Creatures Do the Strangest Things is a good book that explores some of the weird animals that live in the ocean. In your Main Lesson Book, write down what you learned from the book.
