The ocean is the biggest biome--more than 70 percent of Earth is covered with water, and most of that water is salt water. The ocean supports many kinds of homes for a vast range of life. Most of the marine ecosystem is open ocean. However, estuaries provide unique homes for many creatures.
Coral reefs (shown in the photo on this page) are also brilliant displays of color and diversity in the ocean. Look at the diverse nature of ocean life!
