Humans change rocks as they blast certain areas for roads or tunnels. We also use machines to break rocks. If there is such a road or tunnel near you, make sure to look at it as you ride through. Visit a quarry if there is one in your area to see more exposed rock. The Rock Cycle
Nature can change one kind of rock into another--one type of rock can actually become another! We know that there are three main types of rock--igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary. Heat, pressure, and erosion all play a part in the process that can transform igneous rock into metamorphic rock...and then back again. This changing of rocks into other rocks is called the rock cycle.
