Objectives
Students will:
- Identify the theme of a poem that explores the meaning of an experience.
- Determine the figurative and connotative meanings of words in a poem.
- Analyze the development of a theme over the course of a poem, including the impact of specific word choices.
- Write a poem that explores an experience or idea and, along the way, explores or experiments with language.
