Fold the paper and cut out the mask.

Fold your paper in half short end to short end and cut out a half circle. Do NOT cut the folded edge. When you open the half circle, you will have a symmetrical circle or oval. Hold it up to your face. If it seems a little too big, fold it again and trim a little off of the sides.

Draw an eye.

Draw an eye on one side of your mask and carefully cut it out. If you are not sure how to cut out the eye, ask your learning coach for help. Carefully bend the paper and snip in the middle of the eye. Then, you can fit your scissors in and cut around your eye.

Trace and cut out the second eye.

Fold your mask over and trace the hole you cut for your first eye. This will make sure that your second eye is in the same place and a similar size as your first eye. Now, cut it out in the same way as the first eye.

Add facial features to your mask.

Using oil pastels or crayons, draw in your mask’s facial features. Remember, if you put something on one half of your mask, you need to put that same thing on the other half so that it stays symmetrical. You can make your mask look any way you want!

Add yarn or ribbon.

Fold your mask one more time. Punch a hole in the side with a hole punch or have an adult create a hole with scissors. Thread some yarn or ribbon through the holes and tie it off. Now you have your own mask! Ask your learning coach to tie the yarn or ribbon behind your head so that you can wear your mask.
