To fight fires, it is important to stay physically fit. Mateo works out for 1 hour when he gets to work. If he gets to work at 7 a.m. and works out for 1 hour, 1 hour of time has elapsed, or gone by. What time is it after Mateo works out? Here's a hint: What is 7 + 1?

The firefighters work hard to keep their firehouse clean. Mateo's job today is to clean the kitchen. He starts with the floors. It takes 10 minutes to sweep and mop the floors.

Brrrrrriiiiiiiiinnnnnnngggggg! Brrrrrriiiiiiiiinnnnnnngggggg! The firehouse alarm is ringing! Mateo and his fellow firefighters put on their uniforms and boots, and they are on the truck in 5 minutes.
