Objectives

Students will:

1. Describe how the isotopes of a given element are the same and how they are different.
2. Differentiate among protons, neutrons, and electrons in terms of relative mass.
3. Determine the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons in isotopes.
4. Calculate average atomic mass of an element using isotopic composition.
