Yes, you know what is in your drawers because everything is sorted. You don't have a few pairs of socks in every drawer; they are all in one drawer.

In addition to objects, you can sort in images, shapes, numbers, and just about anything. Look at these shoes: 
How could you sort them? You could do it by type of shoe, color, or size. You could sort by how they close such as shoelaces, Velcro, or buckles. Let's look at some pictures of toys and see if we can decide which characteristic was used for sorting. Here are some toy cars. Which characteristic are these cars sorted by? Size, type, color, number of windows?
