It's fun to connect to words, too. Connecting to words helps us understand the whole picture of the stories we read.

When you hear the word "cuddly," what does it make you think of? Maybe a favorite stuffed animal, blanket, or your pillow. When you think of something cuddly, you are making a connection to the word.

When you hear the word "spicy," what do you connect it to? Maybe something you ate that was spicy or didn't want to eat because you knew it was spicy? That was a great connection!
