After six months of tutoring, Carmen and her family are slowly learning how to communicate in English. They still speak Spanish, but they have begun to speak English at home, too. Having friends practice speaking English with them has also helped.
Evaluating the effectiveness of a solution allows you to decide if the solution has worked or if it is working. If it isn't, then a new option can be chosen. In this example, the option that Carmen and her family chose is working. After the evaluation, the family continues to learn English by using a tutor and practicing with friends.
