A plain is a fertile region that is flat, vast, and very habitable. The plains of the world have the highest density of population. Large rivers and their tributaries provide enough water for humans and animals. Plains are lowlands located at the bottoms of valleys. They are also present on plateaus and uplands at high elevations.
Plains are important for agriculture because they are deep and fertile. Their flatness creates the perfect space for crop production and for livestock that grazes on grasslands.
