We will begin in California.
This is the Golden Gate Bridge. It was made by humans.
It was not there before humans built it.
These are the famous redwood trees. Wow! Those trees are so tall! This forest is natural. This means these trees grew naturally. Humans did not build the trees. Let's go to South Dakota and see if you can figure out which landmark was made by humans and which is natural.
The first picture is Mount Rushmore. The second is a picture of the Badlands. Which one do you think humans built? Which one do you think is natural?
Humans made the carvings in Mount Rushmore. Dynamite was used to carve the presidents' faces into the mountain.
The Badlands of South Dakota are natural. The Badlands were formed by wind and water over time. Humans did not build these features; nature did. |
