George Washington believed that having good manners was very important. Many of the rules for showing good manners that were commonly followed during his time are now outdated. But there are some that many people still follow. One of these rules involves having good table manners. You practice good table manners by sitting at the table and showing respect to others while eating a meal. This means no chewing with your mouth open or talking while your mouth is full. It means using a napkin to wipe crumbs from your mouth. It means passing food to other people at the table. Can you think of any more examples?
