Learning Coach Notes
In their Math notebook have your student write the steps to adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators.|On pages 2, 7 and 8 of this lesson there is a practice. Have your student solve each problem first and explain to you how they got the answer before they click to see the correct answer. If they got the answer wrong tell them to rethink and explain what they did wrong and how they can change their steps to get it right. For the activity in this lesson have your student solve the problems first before looking at the answer key. Before they check their answers have them go through it with you, as they explain how they got their answers and then have them check the answer key. Have them circle the ones they got wrong. Ask them to explain why they think they got it wrong and redo the problem.
