Goal: Measure using a ruler, yardstick, and measuring tape.

Let’s practice measuring! You will need string, scissors, a ruler, a yardstick, and a measuring tape.

Let’s use the ruler to measure out 10 inches of string. Place the end of the string next to the 0 in. on the ruler. Use the scissors to cut the string next to the 10 in. on the ruler.

Now, let’s use the yardstick to measure out 2 feet of string. Remember, 1 foot is made up of 12 inches. Do not forget to place the end of the string next to the 0 in. on the yardstick!

Can you use the measuring tape to measure out 1 yard? Remember, 1 yard is made up of 3 feet, or 36 inches.
