Look up at the sky every day this week. Observe the cloud formations. What shapes do you see? What do the clouds look like?

Keep charting the weather this week. Make blocks for each day very large on your chart. You will be gluing in a picture of cloud formations and noting basic weather conditions (e.g., rain, sunny, gray, snow). Ask your teacher to write the words; you can trace over their writing.

Look for three basic types of clouds: cumulus, cirrus, and stratus. Look at the next pages for descriptions of these cloud types.

How do you know which type of cloud you are looking at?
