Light Art

Can you create a collage to demonstrate the terms you've learned?

Goal:

Goal:

colorful fireworks and their reflection in a lake

You’ve learned that there are three key things light can do: block, bend, and bounce. You've also learned important terms to describe these processes. To show what you've learned, create a collage about the three B's of light.

Activity

  1. Create a collage by using pictures to describe the three B's of light: blocking (absorption), bending (refraction), and bouncing (reflection). Also use pictures to define opaque, translucent, and transparent.

  2. If you’re not sure what a term or process means, watch the videos again or do research.

  3. To create your collage, cut out pictures from magazines and glue them onto poster board. Be creative! Make sure your collage shows why light is wonderful. If you'd like to use other media to create your collage, check with your teacher first.

  4. Take pictures of your collage, and submit them to your teacher. Click the Rubric button to see how this assignment is graded.
