World War II or the Second World War was a war that involved major countries on different continents.
Why did World War II start? Let’s look at a few major causes.
Germany lost World War I and had to pay huge amounts of money to pay for the damages caused by the war. Germany’s economy was in ruins and people were hungry.
Adolf Hitler took over power and wanted to build Germany back to a world power.
He joined Mussolini in Italy and took over Austria and the Czechoslovakia.
Hitler and Mussolini planned to continue to take over European countries to build their own empires.
The island nation of Japan also wanted to expand its empire. Japan invaded Manchuria and China.
The Great Depression was hitting the economies all around the world and creating unstable governments.
