What are the prefixes re- and un-?

Today, we are going to look at the prefixes re- and un-.
Prefixes are letters that come before a base word. These letters change the meaning of a word.
unfair: not fair
un - is the prefix meaning not, and fair is the base word.
Look at the word replay.
Do you see the word "play" in "replay"?
Look at the letters before the word "play" in "replay."
Prefixes, such as re -or un-, come at the beginning of a word.
What happens to the meaning of a word when I use a prefix?
The prefix changes the meaning of a word.
The prefix re- means to do again.
replay - play again
rebuild - build again
The prefix un- means not, or do the opposite of.
untrue - not true
untie - take off tie
