A complete sentence has a subject and a predicate. The subject is the person, place, or thing that is doing or being something.
The predicate of a sentence tells what the subject is or is doing.
The predicate can be one or more words.
Look at the following sentence.
The ball rolled down the street.
The predicate has four words.
The ball rolled down the street.
What did the ball do?
It rolled down the street.
