It is easy to demonstrate the weakness of gravity compared to the electromagnetic force.
On a dry day, rub a comb across your shirt to collect static electricity, then hold it over a piece of paper on your desk. If you were successful in collecting enough static electricity, the piece of paper lifts off the desk. It takes the gravitational force of the entire planet to keep the paper on the desk, but the force is easily overcome with the electromagnetic force.
What else can static electricity do?
