In French, l’été means summer.
To say in the summer, you say en été.

L’automne is how you say autumn or fall in French.
Repeat after me. L’automne.
En automne is how you say in the fall.
L’hiver is how you say winter in French.

Spring is le printemps.
Le printemps is a little different because you use the word au to say in the spring.

In French, the verb jouer meaning “to play” is used mainly for sports using balls.
The verb faire is used to say you do certain activities.
For example,
Tu joues au tennis. Mais (But)
tu fais du surf.
Listen to Olive describe the activities she does. Listen closely for when she uses jouer or faire.
En hiver, je fais du patin à glace.
Au printemps, je joue au handball.
Handball is a sport that is popular in Europe and France.
En été, je joue à la pétanque.
Et je fais de la natation.
Pétanque is another popular game in France, usually played by four players. Each player has three balls to throw and tries to get them as close as possible to a smaller ball.
