During the fifteenth century the world was blessed with the work of Leonardo da Vinci. This amazing man brought science and art together through his combined talents of painting, sculpture, architecture, engineering, and inventing. As Sigmund Freud said about him, “Leonardo da Vinci was like a man who awoke too early in the darkness, while the others were all still asleep.”

A painter, a sculptor, an architect and an engineer, Leonardo Da Vinci's numerous skills have earned him the title of renaissance master. Da Vinci's fascination with science and his in-depth study of human anatomy aided him in mastering a realist art form in his paintings.
