Do you have any family members who are seventy or older? If you do, you will need to know an odd little rule about counting in French. Usually, you can just put two numbers together to get the number you want. Fifty-three is the same in French, cinquante-trois.
But the word for seventy is soixante-dix. Literally sixty-ten. and you keep using the teen numbers all throughout the seventies.
