What are the states of matter?

Everything is made up of matter. Matter is anything that takes up space and has weight. What examples of matter can you name? Look around. What do you see that is matter?

Matter can be a gas like air, a liquid like water, or a solid like a toy. These are called states of matter. What do you see or experience that is a solid, liquid, or gas?
