Let’s watch a video about telling time!
This video will help you learn to tell time to the hour, half-hour, and ten minutes.
What time is it? It is time to meet Jen’s Ten. Jen calls her clock “Jen’s Ten” because
it only shows time in ten-minute intervals. Before we practice reading Jen’s Ten let’s
count by 10’s to prepare. Ready?
10…20…30…40…50…60
Terrific! Of course, when we’re telling time, 60 means “o’clock.”
What time is Jen’s Ten showing now? Yes, it’s 6 o’clock.
Now, let’s count by tens again but a little slower this time so we can watch what
happens to the minute hand as we say the tens.
6:10
You already know this time. What time is Jen’s Ten showing us? Awesome- it’s 6:30, we’ve

We are now on the hour since we have gone 60 minutes around the clock and there are 60
minutes in an hour. What time is it now? You got it! It is 7:00!
Look at Jen’s Ten! She wants to play a game with you to see if you can name her ten. You
have 5 seconds to name the time before she does. Are you ready? Let’s go…

You are doing great! Keep it up!
