Words to Compare Sizes

We compare sizes when we look for big and small items. Things can be:

taller shorter longer heavier
lighter narrower wider

Taller, longer, heavier, and wider tell us that an item is big. Shorter, lighter, and narrower tell us that an item is small. We use these words when we look at two things.

We use these words when we look at more than two things:

tallest shortest longest heaviest
lightest narrowest widest
