Hula Hoop - Waist

Technique:

  • Waist:
    • Hold hula-hoop around your body so it is against your back.
    • Push the hula-hoop to one side and let go.
    • Move your hips in circles so the hula-hoop spins at your waist.

Neck

Hitting Stance

Technique:

  • Neck:
    • Hold hula-hoop around your neck.
    • Push the hula-hoop to one side and let go.
    • Move your head in circles so the hula-hoop spins around your neck.

Knees & Arm

Hitting Stance

Technique:

  • Knees:
    • Put your knees together.
    • Hold hula-hoop around your knees.
    • Push the hula-hoop to one side and let go.
    • Move your knees in circles so the hula-hoop spins around your knees.
  • Arm:
    • Put hula-hoop around your arm.
    • Use your other hand to start the hula-hoop spinning.
    • Move your arm in circles so the hula-hoop continues to spin around your wrist.

Spin like a Top

Technique:

  • Spin like a Top:
    • Hold the hula-hoop so it is standing up.
    • Twist your hand to spin the hoop.

Run-through

Hitting Stance

Technique:

  • Run-through:
    • Hold the hula-hoop so it is standing up.
    • Let go of the hoop and run through it before it falls.

Skill Activities:

  • Count how many times you can keep the hoop spinning.
  • Have a contest with a friend.
  • Try to spin the hoop as fast as you can.
