helps animals meet their basic needs. Some animals migrate every
year at the same time.

Animals eat different things, but they all must have food to survive. Food gives them energy to live and grow.
Every living thing on Earth needs water for drinking and cleaning.
Animals need shelter, or protection, from weather and predators. Shelter helps animals stay safe.
Animals also need space to live and have their babies. Some animals, like bison, need a lot of space to roam. Other animals do not need much space at all.
