What are the multiples of a number?

A multiple is a product of a number multiplied by another number. An easy way to think of multiples is that they are the numbers you get as you skip count by a number.

For example, some of the multiples of 2 are shown in the table below.

Multiples of 2
1 x 2 = 2
2 x 2 = 4
3 x 2 = 6
4 x 2 = 8
5 x 2 = 10
6 x 2 = 12

The multiples of 2 shown in the table are: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12. You can continue this list with any number that is a product of 2 multiplied by another number.
