How many sounds do you hear?

Time yourself for 5 minutes. In that time, be very still and listen. Take notes in your science notebook about what you hear. You’ll need these notes later!

Record all the sounds you hear around you. How many sounds did you hear? Were you surprised about the number of sounds you heard?

How can you describe the sounds? Are they loud, like a baby crying, or soft, like a whisper? Are they high and squeaky, like a mouse, or low and rumbly, like a garbage truck?
