It is time to problem solve! Logan is so excited to go on an ocean adventure. Follow the problem-solving steps to help Logan figure out what time of day he saw salmon.

Read the problem.

The first step is to read. Then read the problem again! It is helpful to read the problem as many times as you need to in order to see all of the important information!

Look for important information.

Find the important information. This problem is a little different than equation problems. We want to find the time Logan started seeing the salmon.

We can underline the question to help us focus on what we are looking for.

Now we need to look at the clock.

We will find the important information to answer the question by identifying where the hour hand and minute hand are on the clock.

Then, determine the minutes by counting by 5s, Then, count by 1 for each mark after the 3.
