Short Jump Rope - Crisscross

Technique:

  • Hold the ends of the rope in each hand on each side of the body.
  • Start with the rope touching the ground behind your feet.
  • Spin the rope up over your head and around your body.
  • Jump the rope a few times with a regular forward swing.
  • As the rope swings over your head and in front of your body, cross your arms.
  • Jump over the rope as it hits the ground in front of you.
  • Continue to jump with your arms crossed, or uncross your arms as the rope swings in front of you again.

Different jumps you can try with your jump rope:

  • Switch back and forth between regular jumps and crisscross jumps.
  • Count how many times in a row you can jump the rope while crisscrossed.
  • Have a contest with a friend.
  • Try jumping the rope while you turn it as fast as you can.
