The safari bus has stopped. It’s time to count the animals! These animals are in groups of 5. Let’s add them together: 5+5+5+5+5=25. There are 25 animals. Now, instead of adding them together, let’s try skip counting by 5s. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25. Wow! That was even faster!
The students are headed to the next stop on their safari. Are you ready to count the animals? Remember, they have already seen 25 animals.
Let’s keep skip counting by 5s. Here we go! 30, 35, 40, 45, 50. Very good! The students have seen 50 animals.
It’s time to go to the next stop on the safari! The students have already seen 50 animals. I wonder how many more they will see!
Wow! Look at all of the animals! The students have tried to skip count by 5s, but now they’re stuck. They’ve counted 55, 60, and 70 animals. Can you help them fill in the blanks? Let’s skip count by 5s: 55, 60, 65, 70, 75. The missing numbers are 65 and 75.
