Ones place
Place value tells us the value of each digit. In the number 30, the 0 is in the ones place, and the 3 is in the tens place. That means 30 is made up of 0 ones and 3 tens. The ones place is always the digit, or number, on the far right. The tens place is always the digit, or number, just to the left of the ones place.
The digits in the ones place are in blue, and the digits in the tens place are in yellow. Do you see a pattern?
