You read other stories earlier in this course and practiced analyzing the story by breaking down the plot structure. This plot diagram may have helped you analyze the progress of each story’s plotline and guided you in better understanding the story being told.
Let’s take a moment to review what the plot diagram looks like for a novel. Perhaps you read The Wonderful Wizard of Oz when you were younger, or maybe you saw the famous movie version with Judy Garland as Dorothy. Dorothy and her dog Toto are inside their home in Kansas when it is lifted and carried away by a cyclone, or tornado. The house lands not in Kansas, but in the strange and wonderful land of Oz.
