If you've watched a movie, read a magazine, or listened to the latest popular song, it's likely that the content of at least one of these has included some reference to sexuality. Sexuality is often misconstrued and used as an advertisement technique rather than for its intended purpose. Advertisements glamorize sexuality, and more often than not, present false or inaccurate information and images.
What do you really know about sexuality? Do you only know what the media has shown you or has tried to "sell" you? Have you had a conversation about this in a previous health course? Perhaps it's something you've discussed with your parents. If you aren't sure what it is and haven't learned about it previously, that's okay, too. This lesson will help you have a better understanding of sexuality.
In this lesson, we will explore the real meaning of gender, sex, and sexuality. You'll learn about gender stereotypes and explore what your personal beliefs and thoughts are on each of these important topics.
