Snack food designer Mathalio works at a chip factory that is trying to design the perfect triangle-shaped tortilla chip.

The design team has created a few different types of triangles that could be used.

But the team didn’t record every interior angle measurement on the triangles.

Some of the triangles are missing one measurement, and some are missing two measurements.

Luckily, Mathalio knows the properties of each type of triangle. He also knows the triangle sum theorem, which states that all three interior angles of a triangle always add up to one hundred eight degrees.

With this knowledge, Mathalio was able to calculate the missing angles.

In this lesson, you will learn how to use the triangle sum theorem to find missing angle measurements.

Then, you will see how Mathalio calculated the missing angle measurements in each of the tortilla chip designs.

You have learned about six types of triangles. Each type of triangle has its own distinct features, with every triangle being a combination of either right, acute, or obtuse, and either scalene, isosceles, or equilateral.
