How can regular citizens work together or individually to influence public policy?

Objectives

Students will:

  1. Identify the factors that influence an individual's political attitudes and actions.
  2. Define and provide examples of grassroots political groups.
  3. Describe the processes used by individuals and grassroots groups to impact public policy and government behavior.
  4. Identify examples of political changes brought about by grassroots groups and/or individuals.
  5. Analyze historical and contemporary examples of grassroots movements that were able to bring about political change.
